Delicate swirls of blue baguette and crystal marquise rhinestones make up this exquisite set by Star-Art. Not much is known about this company; they were in business from the 1940s into the 1980s and usually worked in sterling silver; their designs often made use of filigree or intricate curved shapes. I would guess that this set dates from the 1940s; light blue rhinestones were very stylish back then and screwback findings indicate an early date. The very shiny metalwork could indicate rhodium plating. Brooch measures approximately 2 x 1½ inches and also has a loop for a chain on the back so you can wear it as a pendant. Screwback earrings measure ¾ x 1 inch. All pieces are signed Star-Art Sterling. This set is in absolutely mint condition; if it's ever been worn it certainly doesn't show and the rhinestones show no sign of age. It would be a fabulous gift for Mother's Day or a gorgeous "something old" or "something blue" for a bride!
